He traversed Belize and wrote
this book in the fifties.

Born Cambridge, England 1915
Died Punta Gorda, Belize 1998



Until his death, he worked
tirelessly to protect unique and fragile environments within Belize, especially the Columbia River Forest Preserve.

   
Charles spoke eight languages
& visited over 60 foreign countries as a soil/use scientist. He wrote or co-wrote 3 books and more than 40 articles.





He was among the first in the world
to successfully breed the spectacular
blue morpho butterfly.
